lololol...this was hilarious.

I was totally thinking of the Van Halen M&M's thing when I started reading this.

Speaking of Dan Zanes, I swear he's like this cross between Keith Richards and Steve Martin. Can you see it?

I might have to disagree on the Chucks. I think our generation can get away with wearing them still, but maybe only lowtops. Not sure. But I have some. And some old Puma Clydes somewhere, too. Getting rid of them would be like saying I'm OLD.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

So yeah, I guess you're right after all...lol

PS: You have no idea how hard it was to leave this comment. The internet is screwed tonight.

O.K., I will add an ammendment to the Chucks. Low tops are always acceptable. I was thinking more of the people who wear them with old 90's band t-shirts and cutoffs whenever they go out to a bar. I see what your saying about Dan Zanes, but I think he's cuter than Steve and Keith. I think it's the goofy smile.

God, these things are so true! (Hmmm - is this why I always felt like a babysitter when I dated a musician? Save that for Dr. Phil.)
Sometimes I think I would be hysterically happy if my three girls could just agree on ONE food item that they ALL enjoy. It would make life so much easier (and cheaper). . .

Chucks? Well, my feet were just too big - I felt like Bozo in them. The girls have some funky Doc Marten's that they love to wear. And I must say that I love them all the more when they choose the Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" over the "Dragon Tales" tape for trips in the car. And when my oldest(6) gets mad at me, she runs up to her room, slams the door and plays this one Ramones song on her disney boombox REALLY LOUDLY.
I L O V E T H A T !

As for the all powerful force that is Dan Zanes, what other person could have grown men and women singing songs to themselves (e.g., in the grocery check out line) that have "cock a doodle doo" in them? It's scary.

P.S. The Batman shirt is tough!

The Ramones kick much ass and so do tiny kids that realize it. When we first brought At-man home from the hospital I would sing "At-man is a Punk Rocker to him, and he loves them to this day. I tried to get him to watch The Flaming Lips on Austin City Limits but I think for whatever reason it was a bit scary to him, although he does love the Vaseline song. Your girls sound pretty tough themselves with tiny Doc Martins's and all.

I can TOTALLY relate. I have 2 rockers in my house! Both of my boys listen to loud music and love to play guitars. My 5 year old is growing his hair out to look just like that! LOL...

If Hipster moms are looking for safe places to pee in NYC (or especially kid-safe places), listen to Adam Varga's segment on Dailysonic about peeing in NYC.

I, too, am the Mommy to rock stars. I have two. They are 34 years apart in age, but you can hardly tell. They both love Rage Against the Machine. What can a Mommy do? Set up a studio in the basement and let them go at it!
